Outdoor August Wedding | Council Bluffs, Iowa
August 25, 2018
Wedding planning can be a full time gig, so many decisions and so many things to coordinate and consider. Nikki planned a beautiful wedding without skipping a beat. She did it while working full-time and raising two little ones all while she campaigned alongside her soon to be husband, Justin, in his campaign to be re-elected on the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors. Justin spent most of his free time leading up to the wedding as the driving force behind the Dream Playground Reimagined project. It’s amazing to see how these two were already working so well together and we think Nikki deserves a gold medal.
When planning a summer wedding, it’s expected to be warm or even blistering hot. What’s not expected, is record breaking amounts of rainfall and flooding leading up to your August wedding day. Two weeks prior to Nikki and Justin’s riverfront wedding they were scrambling for a backup location, just incase the river didn’t recede. The water receded and the staff at Meyer Landing worked diligently to put the venue back together. We’re sure some guests had no idea that a week prior there was standing water every where.
Nikki, ever so eloquently tied elements of elegance and class into the seemingly casual venue. From sunflowers to rich hues of blue and gray, everything came together for a perfect day.
One of the highlights for the guests (and photographers) was the outdoor dancing! Let’s do more of this please! Dancing under the summer skies and twinkle lights was incredibly romantic. We highly suggest considering an outdoor dance floor if couples have the option.
Congrats to this amazing and sweet power couple!
